Dendrological Society (dendro)

Each year, the Dendrological Society organises a trip to one of the Nordic countries to visit arboreta, industries, forests, and parks. Occasionally, we take day trips, such as to Björnlandet National Park or a ferry ride to Holmön. When possible, we also hold courses, lectures, and cutting exchange days.

The Dendrological Society maintains a well-stocked seed bank with trees from various parts of the world. As a dendro member, you have access to the seed bank, pots, and other materials needed for planting.

We meet every Monday at 4pm in Åteln for coffee, planning, and socialising. Each week, we appoint someone responsible for watering the trees the society has around SLU. We also collaborate with the campus arboretum and Arboretum Norr, encouraging participation in their workdays. The society's activities are open to all student union members with an interest and enthusiasm.
